Hi and thanks for checking out my blog. Just wanted to highlight one of my favorite stamp sets the 'Butterfly Gala' which is matched with the 'Butterfly Duet Punch' before getting into new product creations.
For me butterflies are like flowers they can be added with all sorts of words and most embellishments to create decorative cards or quick note cards. Inspiration for above came from page 46 of the current catalogue as shown below. Didn't have everything the same as one shown so I created a similar look with what I had using the same Butterfly Gala stamp set, Butterfly Duet punch, Well Said stamp set and Well Written Dies.
All the products used that are still available are shown at the end of the post and the process of putting it together is as follows;
- Started with card base, A4 Whisper White cut in half vertically and folded in half
- Background was left over from Sale-A-Bration Lily Impressions DSP cut 14.4 x 10cm
- Whisper White circle 2.5cm cut with die
- Stamped butterflies using Gorgeous Grape with Highland Heather ink on different halves and cut
- Die cut 'Birthday' out of Basic Gray cardstock
- Stamped 'Wishes' in Gorgeous Grape on strip of old Sweet Sugar plum cardstock and cut v shape out of ends
- Attached background and strips of ribbon in center using snail adhesive
- Whisper White Baker's Twine placed in loops attached onto snail adhesive where circle covers
- Circle added with dimensionals to cover part of ribbon and twine
- Attached 'Wishes' with dimensionals to add more layering
- Attach 'Birthday' with fine tip glue along with butterflies
- Finished with Frosted Flower Embellishments and Enamel Dot on larger butterfly
Inside stamped sentiment 'Celebrate Another Year of Happiness' and couple more little butterflies with Gorgeous Grape ink to complete. Another example of these butterflies making great quick embellishments is the decoration of the Best Dressed 3x3 Note Cards & Envelopes - now on the last chance products list, 24 cards with envelopes (8 of each 3 colors) for only $5.60!
The note cards and envelopes are pre-printed so I just a stamped flower to go with my butterfly, sentiment 'A Little Note' from the Butterfly Gala stamp set and little flower inside no sentiment so you can write what you wish, quick and easy!
